About Earnest

I’m Earnest Howard, the Personal Growth Guy. I’ve spent my life helping people discover who they were made to be.

I grew up inside California’s foster care system, though not as a foster child. My parents founded and operated licensed group homes for boys, so I grew up alongside youth and young adults facing some of life’s most difficult circumstances. At age 18, I began taking on more responsibilities within the organization. Over the following decades, I served as executive director and guided the organization’s growth while navigating the complex world of nonprofit foster care – from social services, the courts, and school districts to state regulations, behavioral approaches, and trauma-informed care.

My favorite part of the work was always connecting with and guiding the youth and young adults. I loved being in their presence, believing in them, and helping them recognize their own worth. These connections and experiences shaped the person I am today and the philosophy I live by. Every person is a gift, with a one-of-a-kind design and something to offer that the whole world needs. Each of us matters, and each of us has a part to play. Discovering those things within ourselves is some of the most important work we’ll ever do.

Alongside that work, I’ve been on a lifelong spiritual journey. I’ve explored with an open mind and a willingness to question, developing a deep, positive relationship with our Creator, our God the Source. Today, I share what I’ve learned to help others explore their own spirituality, purpose, calling, morals, and unique design – and the big question of why we’re here.

My approach is simple: I judge favorably. I meet each person where they are, with curiosity and respect, believing there’s something remarkable inside each one of us waiting to be discovered.
